Pastor Tim Halverson and former South Cape Community Redevelopment Agency president John Jacobsen spoke to Cape Coral City Council back in April to propose a housing solution for senior citizens and veterans who may have a need for more affordable options, according to a story written by Chuck Ballaro in the Cape Coral Daily Breeze.

Halverson, who represents Faith Presbyterian Church, proposed the site, which would
tentatively be located downtown where the current military museum sits, "include an assemblage of space that allows for real development, such as housing, restaurants, green space, etc Area businesses, including the military museum, would not be forced out, and there could be an alternative site where such housing could be built."

The church would apply for low income housing tax credits for a mixed-use development, Ballaro reported. This would be a request of the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
