Nir has been with the Southwest Florida Symphony for three previous years. His renewed contract was big surprise announcement that was kept it under wraps. Eventually, the PR team made big public announcement to celebrate the maestro's continued work with the symphony.

Nir's positive attitude and down to earth personality has made it easy for the staff to get attached to him, executive director Amy Ginsburg informed us.

When it comes to maestro Nir, "there is a level of musicianship never seen there," Amy told us. "It makes us a higher caliber of orchestra."

The symphony’s board chairman, Tom Uhler said, “The trustees, staff and loyal patrons of the symphony are all thrilled that Maestro Kabaretti has agreed to a three-year extension of his contract. When the announcement about his contract extension was made from the stage at the final concert of the symphony’s 56th season, it was met with enthusiastic cheers from the entire audience. It’s clear that he’s adored by this community.”

In addition to Maestro Kabaretti’s directorship with the Southwest Florida Symphony, he continues to serve as the music director of the Santa Barbara Symphony in California, where he will commence his 12th season this year. He is also in high demand as a guest conductor both nationally and internationally and guest lecturer at some of the most prestigious universities in the country.
