The tour rides are not races, so there are no prizes given to the fastest overall bikers, but there was a new SpeedZone challenge, which timed racers' final mile, All participants who opted to be timed were eligible for a prize drawing at the conclusion of the tour.
The top finisher in the SpeedZone portion of the ride was also from Cape Coral. Lee Waller, 33, registering a 2:19 final mile.
"It is not a true competition but rather a community event open to many ages and skills," said Betty Jo Ferguson, who participated in the ride for her fourth year in a row. This was the first year she ran the 5K. "I think it was very well organized and run this year and they even included some new timing features for those that do have that competitive spirit."
