Southwest Florida children’s book author Roseanne Pawelec delivered her first donation check to the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife from sale proceeds of “Ollie Finds a New Home, The Story of a Burrowing Owl in Cape Coral.”  The funds will be used to support CCFW’s program to protect the habitat of the Cape’s burrowing owls, according to a recent press release provided by Pawelec.

“It is immensely gratifying to play a role in the protection of the Cape’s burrowing owls,” she said. "I consider it a privilege to help support the tireless work of CCFW’s volunteers.”

One dollar from the sale of every copy of “Ollie Finds a New Home” is donated to CCFW.

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife is a volunteer organization with a purpose of preserving and enhancing the habitats of protected wildlife species and to educate the community about Cape Coral’s wildlife resources.

The book takes children on a journey with Ollie, a burrowing owl in the Cape, as he and his family search for a new underground home. The book addresses the trauma of moving for young children, and positive life lessons about change.

“Ollie Finds a New Home” can be purchased through the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife at the Rotary Park Environmental Center, at Cape Coral gift shops, and at Amazon.com.
