Now there is another great reason to enjoy Cape Coral’s parks—the free Concert in the Park series presented by Cape Coral’s Park and Recreation Department. The events are perfect for family, friends, or to attend solo.

The upcoming Concert in the Park will be held Thursday, February 1, at Cultural Park, 528 Cultural Park Blvd., from 5 to 8 pm. The Freecoasters, a funky blend of reggae soul and ska, will be performing from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Food trucks will be on-site from 5 to 8 p. with offerings from Philly Junction, Horse Eyed Jake’s American Sliders, and Sunny Days Ice Cream.

“The free, family-friendly Concert in the Park series offers an evening of music and delicious food trucks. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and/or blanket as they sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of live music at one of our beautiful Cape Coral parks,” says Kaitlyn Mullen, Senior Public Information Specialist. There are more than 39 parks in Cape Coral with something for everyone, such as playgrounds, community centers, tennis amenities, a youth center a skate park, and more. Plus, program, classes and events are offered year-round. Find out more at capecoral.gov.

The series kicked off with a November 2 event at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral with Nashville Artist Dennis Caravello who combines the blues, jazz, country, and soul for his unique sound.  Find out more about him at Denniscaravello.com

On April 4, from 5 to 8 pm, the series finale takes place at yet another park–Four Freedoms Park—with live entertainment by Sheena Brook. Brook is a Southwest Florida local songwriter who was featured on NBC’s “The Voice!” Find out more about her and her music at sheenabrook1.wixsite.com/sheenabrookmusic.

“We saw Dennis Caravello for the first concert in November at Jaycee Park. It was a lot of fun and the music and food was great,” says Hilary Makens from Ohio, who was in town visiting family.

Make sure to dress for the weather, grab a blanket and lawn chair, and check out the fun! For more information about this event and the rest of the series, visit www.capeconcerts.com/general-6
