Established in 1989 by Father Timothy Murphy, St. Andrew Catholic School has been providing a safe, loving environment in addition to a rigorous curriculum for students in the Cape Coral community for more than 30 years. Father Eduardo Coll is extremely supportive of the school, teachers, students, and families and loves the Cape Coral community.

St. Andrew’s principal, David Nelson, shares what he has loved about working at the school. “My favorite thing about working at St. Andrew are the kids and their families. We have wonderful kids and families who support the school. We are blessed to have an amazing community where people support one another in and outside of the classroom.”

Principal Nelson also talks about how much growth the school has experienced since 2019. The school now has over 530 students enrolled from PK3 to 8th grade. There have been growing pains but also exciting opportunities. St. Andrew accepts the state scholarship (Step Up for Students), which pays for more than 80% of the cost of tuition. In addition, members of law enforcement or active military automatically qualify.

Parents choose St. Andrew because of its motto “Building Faith, Hearts and Minds.” The curriculum integrates faith, culture, and life and emphasizes moral development and self-discipline. A cornerstone program is STREAM, which integrates Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Math to help prepare students for the future.

Principal Nelson goes on to explain how graduates are very prepared for Bishop Verot Catholic High School or other high schools in the area. “We have a strong partnership with Bishop Verot Catholic High School and St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. The three schools work together to provide the best Catholic education we can in Lee County.” In fact, 99% of students graduate with 85% going on to college.

If you’re a parent in the Cape Coral community looking for a school that supports the overall development of your child, schedule a tour and talk with the admissions department at St. Andrew Catholic School.

If you’re not looking to enroll a student, you can support St. Andrew and its mission by participating in the annual Cash Raffle, which begins at the end of November. In addition, the school Gala will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2023, and the annual Golf Outing will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023. For anyone who would like to adopt a classroom, call Mrs. Casagrade in the front office at 239-772-3922. You can also ask about the annual Trunk or Treat that local businesses are encouraged to support.

There are many ways to support St. Andrew and the students, teachers, and staff that call the school “home.” Check out the
