Besides providing a ton of books, periodicals, and media, public libraries also offer events and programs that educate and inspire. Cape Coral provides two public libraries. “The libraries in Cape Coral will be kicking off the annual Summer Reading Program for all ages starting on June 1, which includes a reading and kindness challenge and a free book for every child and teen,” says Melissa Baker, Manager of Programming and Community Outreach, Lee County Library System.

Additionally, special events will occur at Lee County branches all summer. 

“The Northwest Regional Library will have a Summer Reading Kick-Off Party with games and activities for kids and teens at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 1. The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library kicks off their summer party at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, with the book character Curious George, crafts, fun activities, and teen activities in the teen zone,” adds Baker.

Both Cape Coral locations offer numerous programs to delight and inspire.

“Upcoming library events include magic shows, animal encounters, live theater performances, book discussions, movies, arts and crafts, storytelling, and more,” adds Baker.
