Upcoming Can't Miss Exhibits at The Alliance For The Arts

Metamorphosis - A Group Exhibition

This year, The Alliance for the Arts presents Metamorphosis, a collection made up of pieces submitted by current members, inspired by the artists’ interpretation of transformation and change. Each piece of art can explore how people, nature, and society undergo metamorphosis over time. Artists could interpret this theme through depictions of personal evolution, environmental shifts, societal upheavals, or even the lifecycle of creatures undergoing metamorphosis, such as butterflies or frogs. It could evoke feelings of transition, adaptation, and renewal, encouraging viewers to reflect on the cyclical nature of transformation and the beauty found within the process of change.

Current members can download and fill out the prospectus to submit artwork though June 30. Artwork must be dropped off July 1, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Late work will not be accepted.

The Alliance for the Arts invites the public to the exhibitions opening reception in the main gallery on July 5 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The free event features the works of current Alliance members. The Foulds Theatre Gallery features selected works of influential Latin American artist Ramon Chirinos. Light refreshments will be provided by Jayne Baker. These exhibits will be on display from July 5-27, 2024 at 10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.

Theatre Gallery - Selected Works of Ramon Chirinos

The Theatre Gallery at Alliance For The Arts will feature works from internationally acclaimed artist Ramon Chirinos.

Chirinos is known internationally for his expressive abstract paintings inspired by the colors and rhythm of life in his native South America. In his work, Chirinos blends native tradition and European influences in a cultural melange that is a key characteristic of Latin American art. Inspired by European artists such as the Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida and Catalan artist Joaquin Mir Trinxet, Chirinos helped define the Catalan art movement known as modernisme

Chirinos' paintings have a distinctive touch and style. From his early figurative paintings to his current abstract collection, they represent an explosion of colors, forms and lines. The poetic use of shape and movement evokes a steady sense of calm that invites the viewer to engage a deeper perception that involves both mind and spirit.
