Hardcovers, soft covers, fiction, non-fiction, autographed books, collectibles—you name it! The books will all be available at the popular semi-annual Friends of the Cape Coral Library Spring Book Sale Fundraiser. The event will be open to the public on Friday, April, from 9 am until 3 pm and Saturday, April 12, from 10 am until 3 pm. A member-only preview sale will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 10 am until 3 pm. Non-members may join the Friends of the Cape Coral Library non-profit organization at the door by paying the annual dues of only $20 per family.

“The enormous meeting room at the Cape Coral Library will be filled with thousands of quality used books arranged according to category by our wonderful crew of member volunteers,” explains Monica Rahman, Publicity Chair, Friends of the Cape Coral Library, a group that raises funds for supporting programs and purchasing materials for the Library that the Lee County budget would not be able to cover.

At the event, there will be an abundance of fiction choices for adults and a section for children and teens. Non-fiction books will be sorted by subject. Along with the pile of books, music CDs and movies on DVD will be available. “Most items are $1 or $2, with small paperbacks at less than a buck!” adds Rahman.  “Special” books will also be available. Those include selections by Florida authors, autographed books, collectibles, and more.  “The special books are priced somewhat higher, but they are still an incredible bargain,” says Rahman.

The proceeds from the event are used to support the Cape Coral Public Library branch.  To purchase items at the event, bring cash or personal checks, as debit and credit cards are not accepted.  Cape Coral Public Library, 921 SW 39th Terrace, Cape Coral, 239-533-4500.

Looking ahead to upcoming book sales, donations of gently used resale quality books, CDs, and DVDs for the Friends of the Library’s book sales are accepted year-round. Call the Friends’ phone message service at 239-349-2572, leave a clear message with your phone number, your call will be returned by a Friends’ volunteer.
