The summer heat is on, but there are great ways to cool down in Cape Coral — from visiting the SunSplash Family Water Park with monthly events to enjoying a breakfast by the water in Cape Harbor, a beautiful waterfront community.

The area is a “lively destination with something for everyone,”  explains Kaitlyn Mullen, Senior Public Information Specialist.

SunSplash Family Water Park has several events in July, including the Independence Weekend Celebration from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6. Our nation’s military will be honored with free admission. Plus, everyone can enjoy $2 All-American hot dogs, Bomb Pop Cocktails, and discounts on domestic draft beer. Special Olympics Champions Day is on Saturday, July 12, from 9 to 10 am, with families and individuals getting exclusive access to the park in the morning. Champions will receive free all-day admission. Plus, families can purchase up to four tickets for the day for only $10. Sharkey Day is Saturday, July 26, where attendees can join the fun with a Shark celebrity. Plus, there’s something new at the park—a 12,000 square foot state-of-the-art Wave Pool that opened this summer.

In the morning hours at Cape Harbor, one can enjoy a breakfast by the water at The French Press. Choose from fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and fresh coffee. It’s also open for lunch with fresh salads, paninis, and a gelato bar. Guests can also enjoy live music at venues like Fathoms and Rumrunners.

Cape Coral Parkway and 47th Terraces are “fantastic places to shop, dine, and explore,” adds Mullen.

There’s an eclectic mix of stores, from boutique shops to unique specialty stores, an array of dining options from cozy and causal, such as the Perk & Brew, serving breakfast, lunch, and amazing coffee, to gourmet and international, such as Iguana Mia, Mexican food, and various art galleries and creative spaces, such as Karma and Coconuts, showcase regional and local talent. Plus, it’s pedestrian-friendly, and tree-lined, so it’s a great place to enjoy a stroll, especially during the cooler times of the day.

“The area captures the city's spirit, offering a blend of shopping, dining, and cultural experiences that make it a must-visit destination,” says Mullen.

So, get out and enjoy the summer before it ends!
