There are a few great ways to enjoy local music talent in September—at a karaoke bar, at a venue, and during Fort Myers’ monthly Music Walk.

One local karaoke hotspot known for its great talent is BackStreets Sports Bar, located at 915 SE 47th Terrace in the heart of downtown Cape Coral. Karaoke is offered nightly at Backstreets from 9:30 p.m. until close.
“We're not your average karaoke spot; we have a fantastic lineup of regular performers who sing like professionals. We've always focused on creating a great vibe for karaoke at our popular outside bar, thanks to our outgoing and fun karaoke singers,” says owner Shelly Walton.
Backstreet’s offers a fantastic catalogue of great hits for singers—country, pop, rock, and oldies—and the DJ can kick in on some harmonies, if you ask. If you’re hungry, there’s also a late-night menu with pizza, wings, and appetizers. Plus, there’s a game room with darts, pool, and more. Singers should also check out Backstreet’s Annual Summer Karaoke Competition in 2026, which runs from May through August.
“This will be the 12th year for our contest, and the Grand Prize is $1500!” adds Walton.
At The Von, located inside the German American Social Club, located at 2101 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks lovers (21+) can enjoy an evening with NightBird, SWFL’s premier tribute band, on Saturday, September 20. With powerful vocals, amazing harmonies, musical skills, and authenticity, the band keeps it real. Doors open at 5 p.m. Concert is from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Full bar, cold beer and food available for purchase. For more information and ticket information, visit Nightbird.com and German American Social Club.
Also, the Fort Myers’ September Music Walk takes place from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, in the historical River District of Fort Myers (First Street and Hendry Street). The area comes alive with live music every third Friday of the month. The event is free to the public with over a dozen participating venues featuring rock, pop, country, jazz, and more, by local and regional talent. Also great is that many of the restaurants are open during the event. The fun isn’t far; it’s just over the bridge!
