The Cape Coral Animal Shelter, located at 325 SW 2nd Avenue, Cape Coral, offers adoption services, medical care, education, and pet training. It also works with the community to raise funds and awareness for these purposes.

Robin Anne Griffiths, founder of ReChargeMe Zone, Inc., holds “Yoga for the Shelter” every Saturday, 8-9 a.m. at the Westin Resort at Tarpon Point Marina, 5951 Silver King Blvd, Cape Coral. “The class is held on the Gazebo Lawn overlooking the water with half of the $10 class fee going to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter,” explains Griffiths.  The class is for all levels but is focused on beginners. Guests are asked to bring a towel, mat, blocks, strap, and bottled water to class. Some equipment can be borrowed on availability. Classes may be held inside the resort if it rains, so check at the front desk for location changes. “ReChargeMeZone is proud to have raised over $5000 over the past few years for the Cape Coral Animal Shelter,” adds Griffiths. Guests can drop in or register in advance at https://www.rechargemezone.com/yoga-classes

One other yoga class that helps support Cape Coral Animal Shelter is “Yoga Under the Tiki”. Every Saturday at 11a.m. the yoga class takes place under the tiki at the Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery at 131 SW 3rd Pl, Cape Coral.  Guest fee per class is $15 that can be made in person via cash, Venmo, or Zelle. The fee includes a cool essential oil towel and free cocktail or mocktail. Be sure to bring a mat, towel, and water. Mats are available to borrow. Donations of pet food, blankets, and other pet items can also be brought to class. Find out more about donations at Supplies. Registration is required to secure a spot. https://www.lgwholisticwellness.com/class-schedule. Check the website for class cancellations due to inclement weather.

“We’re proud to donate $5 of each participant's fee to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter,” says Laura Gotlin, Owner and Founder of LG Wholistic Wellness.

This past summer, in collaboration with Cape Coral Parks and Recreation, the shelter reached more than 450 young residents during seven engaging events that brought shelter animals and children together at the local youth camps.

“These ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions with shelter pups once again proved a favorite activity among campers. These hands-on experiences—from pre-schoolers to pre-teens— took place both at the shelter and at multiple city locations, giving children a chance to learn about animal care, kindness, and responsible pet ownership,” explains Liz McCauley, Executive Director of the shelter.
